Register to Play Men’s & Women’s Rugby League 2021

We’re running men’s and women’s teams for 2021. If you want to be part of the team, we’d love to have you down.

Here is your step-by-step guide to get involved!

COVID Restrictions

Due to COVID protocols from the RFL, there are a couple of additional steps that we have to take to ensure that we’re allowed to play. The most important change is that players can’t just turn up on the day – you have to be registered ahead of time.

1. Read our Player Welcome Pack

We’ve put together a Player Welcome Pack with a lot of information that you’re going to need for

2. Join our WhatsApp Group

We’ve got a WhatsApp group for all our players – this is the easiest way to stay in touch with us. It’s where we’ll be posting the signup form (for COVID return to play protocols) and where any updates will get posted – for example if sessions have to be moved or cancelled.

Please email to get an invite to the group.

3. Register with the RFL

Registration with the RFL is required if you want to play games and, while we’re under COVID restrictions, it’s also required to ensure that we have a register of everyone who’s turning up for sessions. It’s a five minute process to get yourself registered, using the link below. Select “Brighton and Hove Rugby League” as your club!

N.B. If you are currently registered to play X-League please select “New Player” otherwise it will try and transfer you. We will merge any duplicate records manually.

4. Playing Fees

The fees are listed for your information, but we encourage all players to come down and do a couple of training sessions for free before committing.

In our first season, the fees will be £40 for the Men’s team, with the intention of playing around 6 games. If you are a Supporter or an Owner of the club, the fee will be £20 or free respectively.

We won’t be charging fees for the Women’s team in the first season because we’re unable to guarantee fixtures.

The fee covers all your matches – no subs on the day. If you don’t think you’re going to play every game, we offer a £10 per game rate.

5. Let us know you’re coming to a session

Each week, we’ll put a message in the WhatsApp group to get numbers of the next session and/or game – just let us know you’re coming along. We’ll also get you to confirm that you’re not demonstrating any COVID symptoms.

6. Come and play

This is the best bit! Once you’re registered and we know you’re coming, just turn up and play some Rugby.

At the moment, our training sessions are 6:30pm – 8pm on the BHASVIC field by Newman College.

As a new club, this may change as we find a regular venue – all the information will go into the WhatsApp group so make sure you join!
