Women’s Open Trial session a success!

Brighton & Hove Rugby League hosted our Women’s Open Trial on Saturday with a number of players trying the sport of Rugby League for the first time!

“It’s really exciting to see the wider women’s game grow” said club chair, Phil Ward. “With the World Cup being hosted in England this year and the creation of the new Super League South, there’s a lot to look forward to for female players. When we started the club, we said that one of the most important things for us was making sure that Women’s Rugby was treated equally to Men’s. There was a great turnout for the event and we’re looking forward to pushing on into some regular training and playing our first fixtures.”

The club will be hosting training sessions for its Women’s Team on Saturday mornings at 10:15am – immediately before the regular X-League session – and will be looking to play 1-2 fixtures towards the end of July/start of August.

Any players that want to try out the sport or join the team should get in touch via social media or email philward@brightonhoverl.com.
